frequently asked questions

When will I be contacted?
For most services a contact person at the receiving agency is designated to respond to you within a specified time frame.
For other services such as residential and vocational/day programs, your name will be kept at AIR until AIR is notified of a vacancy.  At that time, a “short list” is presented to the agency.  Names are selected from this list to be contacted and offered service.

What if my situation changes?
If you are on a waitlist, you, your family or worker can make updates to the referral at any time by completing the AIR Referral Update form. You can also call AIR if this is more convenient.
AIR reviews the referral priority rating. AIR notifies you, the service you are waiting for and the person forwarding the update of any change made in your priority rating.
